Alex and Jacob’s wedding day took place in Downtown Pensacola, Florida, one of my favorite places to shoot and live. If you’ve never been, come on down. The water’s fine!
I suggested to Alex and Jacob that we initially meet at one of my favorite local places in town. The owners know me and it definitely helps when I’m meeting clients there – I know the service is going to be spectacular. What I didn’t know was that Alex and Jacob were just as regular to the Magnolia as I was!
As they spoke about their plans and their lives I could begin to see the partnership they had. True partners in life. As we cycled through the months with their engagement session and finalizing plans for their wedding, it was crystal clear how much these two loved each other. Their wedding was a true showcase of these two and their family and friends who support them.
Thank you, guys, for including me in your day and sharing with me. I’m thrilled to share these images with you and to be the one to document them for you.
Alex spent the morning getting ready at The Sweet Shop – a new “cabin” with my favorite boutique hotel in town, the Lee House. This place is anything but cabin like though. There’s so much space and light – completely dreamy.
Alex and her bridesmaids had their makeup done by Lorie A. Weekley and Melody Weber. Chelsey Domschke of Arrow Salon & Spa handled the hair. It was a pretty incredible team – the girls looked incredible!
The bouquet’s added a nice touch of color and elegance to the day. Alex took a minute to handle the last minute trimmings.
And as the girls helped Alex into her dress, it was clear that even the slight chance of rain wasn’t going to bring this day down.
Spoiler alert – the light in the bathroom of this house was too good to pass up. I convinced Alex (though it didn’t take long) to do her bridal portraits there. I think we made a great choice!
I couldn’t have done the day without the help of Tiffany from Avant Images second shooting for me. She truly helped to make this day seamless for us!
The ceremony took place at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in downtown Pensacola. It was a gorgeous church and an even more beautiful ceremony.
The guys waited outside for the ceremony to begin.
Jacob stole glances at his new bride throughout the ceremony. It was pretty adorable.
Alex and Jacob had their reception at the Garden Club just down the road from the church. It was beautifully decorated. A friend of theirs did the uplighting with color changing wifi bulbs, which towards the end of the night, seemed to change colors a whole lot more…
Beautiful cakes with a grooms cake fitting for Jacob. Jacob is a photographer himself and I instantly recognized some of the work on his cake as his own.
Shawn Rowe with A DJ Connection made the party happen!
