Bethany and Jacob’s Craft Farms wedding was one of the first beautiful days our area had seen all winter. Spring weather was finally here. Bethany’s attention to detail with her Photo Booth, corn hole, and ceremony arch, tied together what was already a beautiful venue into something truly magical.

When Bethany originally reached out to me, she did what many do when they’ve been in a wedding I’ve shot before – describe in great detail the bride, the day, date, and how I would maybe remember them or the event. I’m glad you all think my life is so wild that I can’t remember you. I assure you, I do – especially if you’re the party animal on the dance floor all night. 😉

I met Bethany 3 years ago when I shot her sister’s wedding. What I thought was just going to be a cool day, another opportunity to hang out with her awesome family again, turned out to be an experience I personally needed more than I realized. It’s easy as photographers, entrepreneurs, self-employed, to get bogged down in what we’re doing. We compare ourselves to everyone else on social media. We don’t take time to reflect on where we’ve come from.

When I had met Bethany, I was photographing her sister Ashlie’s wedding in Gulf Breeze. I still worked full time at the orchestra. My business was a side hustle and my passion for weddings was just beginning. Getting to photograph Bethany and Ashlie’s family again slapped me in the face with the reality of how much has changed in the last 3 years and how much both my business and I have grown.

It’s been extra hard for me to edit their images. I love them so much. I’ve stopped and started so many times due to the tears in my eyes from so many special moments that keep blinding my view. From the touching memorial to Jacob’s grandfather, to their first look, their touching ceremony, and beautiful toasts.

Bethany and Jacob, thank you for making me feel like a part of your family. It’s truly been an honor to document the start of your love story.
