There are fewer things I feel more honored by than when a friend asks me to be their wedding photographer. Shooting Hong and Bobby’s wedding was an absolute dream come true. From the first look at the Pensacola Yacht Club, to a ceremony and reception at Sanders Beach in Pensacola, we had beautiful weather, amazing light, and more fun than many will ever remember!
Hong and Bobby, thank you so much for trusting me with your wedding day. It was truly an honor and I’m so grateful to have been there to document it for you.
Getting Ready
Hong and Bobby had one attendant on each side and skipped the big bridal party. That didn’t mean the getting ready festivities would be quiet. Hong invited some of her best girl friends to the beach house to hang out and get ready, hair and makeup and mimosas all around.
First Look
The Pensacola Yacht Club offered such a special place for a first look. Watching these two see each other for the first time surrounded by beautiful water and boats was fantastic.
Ceremony
Hong and Bobby opted for an intimate ceremony with just family and close friends and invited the rest of their guests to join them at the reception to celebrate their big day with them. I loved this! You get the best of both worlds of an intimate wedding and a big party.
They had a dear friend officiate which only added to the flair of their day. The beautiful flowers were provided by Supposey and amazing gold Chaivari chairs by Wedding Walls.
Bride & Groom
My favorite time of the day: When I get to take the couple out for portraits.
It’s not for the reason you probably think. Yeah, I get full control and get to work my magic but what I really love is that opportunity for the couple to take a beat, breathe, relax, and remember what the whole day is about without the craziness of everything and everyone else around you. No matter how well planned or low key your day may be, this time is so important.
Getting to see Hong and Bobby after the ceremony and let them enjoy each other’s company (with a couple lurking photographers shouting at them to kiss here and there) was an absolute joy.
Reception
A full band (4 Barrel Funk). Amazing Vietnamese food served family style by Ba Mien. A beautiful (and delicious) cake by Kate’s Cakes.
…and touching, yet playful, dances by the couple and their parents. A ridiculously fun dance party followed by a sparkler exit made this day an absolute dream.
