Lindsey & Cullen were married on June 4, 2016 at our beautiful Pensacola Beach. Their elopement style wedding featured a simple elegance that highlighted the love of two people more than anything else. Grey and muted yellow served as the color palette with a dark skies behind. A little rain didn’t bring these two down.
It rained. It’s Florida after all. I thought we’d be good. I thought it’d be clear and then when I went to leave the house to capture the girls getting ready, water poured from the sky.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in the years of doing this, it’s that my clients surly know how to run with the bunches. When I arrived to capture the getting ready festivities of Lindsey and her squad, the girls were chill. The occasional “Is it still raining?” rang out a few times but even when it was, Lindsey never let it defeat her. She was excited, as she should be, to finally marry her soul mate.
Though the girls were running a little late late getting ready, it clearly worked out that way for a reason. When they arrived at the ceremony site, the rain had completely stopped. Throughout the ceremony, a drop here, a drop there. And only after completing their family photos and bride and groom portraits, did it start to rain again.
The girls got ready together at the Hampton Inn on Pensacola Beach. I’m a little envious of their hair and makeup skills. Teach me your ways!
Lindsey’s dress was a simple and elegant and truly perfect for her. Her brother, stationed in Hawaii, brought back flower clips for her to add a touch of Hawaii paradise to her wedding day.
That moment when the bride looks in the mirror in her dress and realizes “this is really happening” is one of my favorite to capture on the wedding day.
Lindsey’s bridesmaids were in beautiful grey dresses that flattered each of their figures. I love this style and trend right now!
The groom waited patiently for his bride. The arbor was built by the family and a beautiful addition to the ceremony site.
There’s something about that very first moment when the groom sees his bride coming down the aisle. Doesn’t it warm your heart?
Lindsey & Cullen’s sand ceremony was a beautiful reflection of their families joining.
After, the two both brought flowers to their mothers and loved on their parents. I may have shed a tear or two…
Lindsey’s brother also brought a special gift for Cullen from Hawaii – this watch. There’s something truly beautiful about that tropical island, and I love that they incorporated pieces of it in to their wedding day.
The family went up to the Upper Room on Pensacola Beach to celebrate. Cullen’s grooms cake celebrated his love for his favorite team. Their Kate Spade champagne flutes were a beautiful compliment to the celebration.
Congratulations you two!
