Juliette & Michael did theirs just last week. They’ll be getting married tomorrow. We drove through some areas of the base to get an idea of where we wanted to do some of their portraits for the big day. We chatted. I cooed at little Zeauxie, their 10 month old Golden Doodle.
They told me of their engagement story – how Michael had only been in town for a few days and on one of the last ones, decided to go fishing instead of spend the morning with Juliette. She stayed in bed while he got up at the crack of dawn and headed down to the beach. A small time later, he called her. She didn’t answer. After several failed attempts, he hurried back to their room, rushed in and told her he caught an angel fish and to come down to the beach. He ran out as fast as he could, and almost not fast enough. Juliette, hot on his tail, reached him at the beach, with an elaborate setup he created, in lieu of fishing, so he could get down on one knee and ask her to spend the rest of their lives together.
And then we started shooting. I could feel the love between these two – warm, inviting, true. It really was a magical session.
