I love the rain. Stormy rain specifically. Give me a ridiculous thunderstorm, a cozy blanket, and my couch and I’m the happiest. I know it all came from my Dad. We always shared our love of a good storm, with fleeting dreams of chasing them.
Now, I don’t love the rain on wedding days. I can feel the energy of the room when I walk in to meet the girls as they get ready, and it’s raining outside. “Meg, it’s going to rain…” I heard Tanner say. I believe my exact response was “it ain’t no thing…”
But it was going to rain. The rain came down in sheets. My watch alerted me every few minutes to news of severe weather. Everyone spoke of the doomed weather but I refused to let that energy take hold of this amazing day.
Tanner and Chris had been together since middle school. A love like that, you don’t find all the time. Carillon Beach is an amazing location to host a destination wedding too. Rain or Shine, I knew it would be beautiful. And sure enough, just as Tanner began to get ready, the rain stopped and the sun peaked through and oh my word, was it beautiful!
Between the most amazing pieces from Hemstich Vintage Rentals, to the delicious oven-baked pizza from Dovalinas, the smooth coordination of Melinda Orona Events, the beautiful look by Gallant Glam, the cakes (oh my word the cakes) from Bake My Day, the party hits from Jason Meyers, and one of my fave videographers, Cali from Silver Shade Studios, I’d say this day was a hit.
Tanner and Chris, thank you so much for allowing me to document the start of your new life together. It was the most amazing honor and I hope this little peek into your wedding photos can hold you over just a few more days while I wrap up your gallery.
First looks of the Bride are some of my favorite reactions!
In lieu of reading their vows at the ceremony, they chose to send them to eachother beforehand. Tanner sent Chris hers with a notebook of letters she wrote him every day from the day they got engaged.
Tanner and Chris chose not to see each other before the ceremony. But that didn’t mean there weren’t some other gentlemen that got to see the beautiful bride before the ceremony. Tanner took some time before the start of things to do a First Look with the groomsmen and I have to say, reactions are everything!
One of the best first impressions from a groom witnessing his bride coming down the aisle…
